God of the sun and summer, Pelor is the keeper of time. He supports those in need and opposes all that is evil. As the lord of agriculture and the bountiful harvest, he is the deity most commonly worshiped by ordinary humans, and his priests are well received wherever they go.
Paladins and rangers are found among his worshipers, and indeed there is an entire Knightly Order of Paladins devoted to his service, known as the Knights of the Sun. A related order of monks, the Brothers of the Sun, support the Knights through scholarship and training, and they have many Clerics in service as well. All support each other with remarkably little politicking for such a large and loose organisation, though the Knights themselves have a clear command structure.
He is the second-most commonly worshipped god amongst dwarves, after Moradin, though Erathis is also popular with more modern dwarves. Many large temples to Pelor have mixed congregations, particularly in human cities near dwarven settlements. The House of the Sun in Fallcrest is such a temple, having recently been restored to glory by the dwarf Grundelmar, who left his home in Hammerfast for this mission.
Pelor directs his followers thus:
- Alleviate suffering wherever you find it.
- Bring Pelor’s light into places of darkness, showing kindness, mercy, and compassion.
- Be watchful against evil.
